I created this piece during the COVID lockdown to capture how life changed overnight—familiar places turned into something surreal, filled with restrictions, empty streets, and uncertainty. The red-and-white barrier tapes that sealed off playgrounds and cafes stretch across the scene, breaking up the space like visual roadblocks. Everything dissolves into a colorful puzzle of pixels, as if reality itself is glitching. A virus that scrambles the code, like an unsolved Rubik’s Cube. Faceless silhouettes move through this world, disconnected, lost in digital noise. A pigeon—usually a symbol of freedom—seems trapped in this fragmented reality, unsure of where to go. Using layers of paint, collage, and urban textures, I wanted to reflect the strange mix of isolation and information overload that defined that time. It’s a piece about distance—not just physical, but social and emotional too.
